Why load test the generator? The purpose is to check whether the generator has the correct capacity announced in the catalog and meets the operating requirements of the equipment system?... and when conducting a load test, calibrate the parameters of the generator. The generator will be made to suit actual operating conditions.
Normally, there are two ways to load test a generator: the first is to test it with the actual load of the building or factory. The second way is to test with a dummy load. Each method has its own advantages & disadvantages.
