According to the assessment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from the beginning of the year until now, due to difficulties in industrial production, electricity used for production decreased, while electricity used for services and residential consumption increased.

Explaining this issue, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that in October, commercial electricity output reached over 9.2 billion kWh, an increase of 14.6% over the same period last year. Overall, in the past 10 months, the electricity industry has provided about 87.7 billion kWh, an increase of 11.8% over the same period, ensuring enough electricity for production and consumption of the people.

However, while electricity supplied to industry and construction accounts for 52%, the growth rate is only 10.86% over the same period, electricity used for the commercial sector, hotels and restaurants only accounts for 10.86% over the same period. proportion of 4.7%, increased to 15.2% and electricity for residential consumption accounted for 37.1%, increased by 13.6%, the remaining activities accounted for 4.8%, increased by 4. eighty seven%.

Currently, large hydroelectric reservoirs in all three regions have deployed reservoir water storage. However, by early November, the water flow to hydropower reservoirs in the North and Central region was still lower than the average of previous years. Specifically, A Vuong Hydropower Lake only reached 45.7%, Thac Ba Hydropower Lake reached 72.5%, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Lake reached 89.5%, and Ialy Lake reached 92.1%. However, in the South, the water flow to hydroelectric lakes is higher such as Tri An lake at 127%, Thac Mo at 141% and Dai Ninh at 145.8%. To take advantage of water waves at the end of the season and ensure the goal of water storage at the end of the year, the Electricity industry is focusing on exploiting hydroelectric plants. Coal thermal power sources are exploited according to the water storage plan of hydroelectric reservoirs and gas turbine sources are exploited according to gas supply capacity. Therefore, electricity production in the past 10 months reached 95.6 billion kWh, an increase of 13.8% over the same period.

In order to ensure water supply for production and electricity generation in 2012, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade) inspected the exploitation and operation of hydroelectric reservoirs in Quang Nam province. At the same time, direct Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to operate hydroelectric plants to ensure minimum flow for the downstream of the reservoirs.

Hydropower plants are responsible for coordinating with the Provincial People's Committees to establish and implement hydropower reservoir water regulation plans. Because the need for water for production and daily life is an urgent need of localities, in the context that the system of procedures and regulations for inter-reservoir operation during the dry season months is still incomplete, the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam met with leaders of the People's Committees of Quang Nam and Phu Yen provinces, EVN, hydroelectric plants in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon and Ba river systems to make water regulation plans to ensure water supply requirements for production. , activities in the downstream area of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river and the downstream area of the Ba river are in harmony with the needs of power generation operations in 2013.
